OUR MOST ADORED CITY

Anytime our boots long to stray, we end up in New York City! For years, we’ve dreamed of calling this city home. There is something about the diversity within any given street-corner coffeeshop and the hustle on the streets that always leaves an impression on us each time we visit - not to mention when we arrive mid-late fall when the leaves are falling down and the Christmas magic is going up. Any chance we get, we travel here for inspiration. Our most recent trip was our first one taken together as a family of 3 and it was a treat to see the wonder of the city through our son’s little eyes. It was freezing and pouring the first day we touched-down and we took him to watch locals ice-skate in Bryant Park, to greet the nutcracker soldier at FAO Schwarts, all our go-to spots in Central Park and everywhere the underground subway could take us with a three-wheeled jogging stroller. We barely survived and we loved every minute.

With trips like these that hold so many sweet memories, it is such a gift to take our camera along with us. Yet you’d be surprised how often we take those opportunities for granted and leave it behind. Our trigger-friendly fingers as professional photographers occasionally desire rest from capturing what we see and sometimes in that tension, we loose opportunities to preserve memories of our own family. After first viewing these images and reminiscing on the time we spent with one another, we knew we needed to make a habit of it - no matter what. So, we are dedicating time to get out and shoot intentionally with or without an agenda. We hope by doing this, we will bring raw and unique inspiration to our work by capturing beauty in the ordinary and inputing the insight gained to our wedding couples as a result.

Learning to deeply relish in the moments, when it matters most. Enjoy!
